Summer Solstice Beer Festival

Saturday 6/17/23 1-5pm

Brought to you by the founders of The St. Louis Centennial Beer Festival

Held at “The Rhone” Festival Grounds
2107 Chouteau Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103

Since 2008 the Centennial Beer Festival grew from featuring a three-hour tasting, a few dozen beers and a couple of hundred guests to a week-long festival highlighting the Brewmaster’s dinner, home brewers contest, yoga buzz, the Brewer’s Guild, hundreds of beers, dozens of local brewers and thousands of annual beer fans.

The Centennial took on a life of its own and continued to adapt to increased competition, 8 inches of snow and even covid. The name, taken from the building – The Centennial Malt House – spawned a festival that became a special experience.

We find ourselves entering into a new chapter and as we fondly remember the Centennial, we look to the future and start the Summer Solstice Beer Festival. Because of the fire that ravaged the Centennial Malt House, we are starting a new festival down the street at the Rhone which features both indoor and outdoor facilities and changed the date to take advantage of the longest day of the year. From music to venue to beer and food this festival will have a decidedly summer feel.

What has not changed is our desire to continue to celebrate the best beer in St. Louis. This year we are partnering with Public House for the Brewmaster’s dinner, Lift for Life as our non-profit partners and will again purchase the beer we pour (which is only fair, but often not done.)

The Summer Solstice weekend has long been celebrated around the world for hundred of years from pagan rituals to public holidays. We are featuring the best seasonal beers, a larger stage of live music and summer food and merch.

Raid your closet for your best beach ware, break out the flip flops and hats and apply your sunscreen for year one of a new tradition. Where this festival goes in unknown, but we hope to have you onboard for the ride.

Portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit Lift for Life.

Brewmaster’s Dinner (Sold Out)

Friday 6/16/23:

6pm Brewmaster Five course dinner featuring Public House
$95 + tax and tip (sells out quickly)

Quick Story…Last fall we made our way to Public House Brewing in St. James to visit this year’s Brewmaster partner and perform some in-depth “research” (which entails drinking beer with Josh and Kelsey.)

The date for this year’s dinner, originally scheduled for March, had to be moved because of the fire that severely damaged Moulin Events. We required more “research” and so a 2nd trip to St James was in order to taste a host of different seasonal beers. Yes, this is a challenging job.

This year’s festival falls on the Summer Solstice weekend which has been celebrated around the world since Pagan times. The longest day of the year often accompanies the Feast of the Roman born St. John the Baptist. It was divine intervention that on our 2nd trip we were greeted with Public House’s “Holy Roman Barrel Aged Ale” which was not tasted on our first visit.

We also were able to taste some additional seasonal and vintage beers and picked out a total of 6 beers for the dinner and one more for good measure.

This will mark the 14th year we have hosted a regional brewery to kick-off the Beer Festival.

Your dinner includes a five-course dinner expertly paired with fantastic beers from our friends at Public House. Your tickets include your food, beer, service and tax plus all of the stories of how curiosity and passion turned a garage brewery into a taproom and a commercial brewery, makers of technically flawless and regionally recognized beer.

Easily our favorite night of the year, please join us for great food, fantastic beer, stories and fun.
